What our clients say
European Union trademark questions
Does one filing really cover the whole EU?
Yes. An EU trademark is a single right in all 27 member states. If it is refused because of a conflict in one country, your representative can advise on converting it to national filings.
Do businesses outside the EU need a representative?
Yes. Applicants outside the European Economic Area must be represented by an EEA professional representative, which we provide.
Does an EU trademark cover the UK, Switzerland or Norway?
No. Each of those needs its own filing.
Already registered in the European Union?
Official renewal fee: €850 for 1 class, +€50 for the 2nd, +€150 each from the 3rd. When: Up to 6 months before expiry. If expired: 6 months after expiry, +25% surcharge.
