What our clients say
India trademark questions
Who qualifies for the ₹4,500 fee?
Individuals, DPIIT-recognised startups and small enterprises registered under Udyam. Other applicants, including most companies and LLPs, pay ₹9,000 per class.
Can a foreign business register in India?
Yes. A foreign applicant needs an address for service in India, which your attorney provides.
What if I receive an examination report?
Examination reports are common. A reply is not part of the fixed fee: we quote it on request, and your attorney files it within the deadline.
When can I use ®?
Only after registration. You can use ™ from the day you file. Using ® on an unregistered mark is an offence under the Trade Marks Act, 1999.
Should I register my name and logo separately?
A word mark protects the name in any style and is usually the stronger first filing. A logo filing protects the design. Many brands file both.
Already registered in India?
Official renewal fee: ₹9,000 per class (e-filing). When: Up to 12 months before expiry. If expired: Up to 6 months after expiry with a surcharge (₹13,500 per class in all). Restoration possible up to 1 year after expiry..
